Anabolic Steroids: What Does the Research Say? – Dr. Skip Pope

Anabolic Steroids is an Appearance and Performance Enhancing Substance that we educate on every single day. After Taylor’s story happened, we looked around and realized millions of others were involved with these dangerous drugs. We put together a program to educate on this topic and one of the people that helped us develop the program you see today was Dr. Skip Pope. Dr. Pope is a Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and an attending physician at McLean Hospital. He has conducted research in a wide range of areas in psychiatry and has authored more than 300 peer-reviewed papers. One of his areas of expertise is Anabolic Steroid use and he is widely considered to be one of the leading researchers in the world on this topic.

Because of Dr. Pope’s expertise, we wanted to interview him to learn more about what he is seeing when it comes to Anabolic Steroid use. In this episode we will talk about current usage numbers, what demographics are getting involved, the reasons and culture driving usage, the side effects he is seeing by users, and what he thinks we will continue to learn about these drugs. By having this conversation, we are continuing to enlighten others about the dangers of these drugs and inspiring people to achieve their physical goals the right way!
