A Note on Charitable Giving in 2020:
During these difficult times, the Taylor Hooton Foundation (THF) finds itself in uncharted waters as we continue to fulfill our mission of enlightening the world to the truths about Appearance and Performance Enhancing Substances. COVID-19 did not eliminate the usage of these potentially dangerous substances, and we need your help to keep our kids educated. The new CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security) Act is designed to help nonprofits during the coronavirus pandemic through incentives for charitable giving in 2020, including allowing for a deduction of up to $300 for those who do not itemize when they file their income taxes. The limits for charitable deductions in 2020 have been relaxed from 60% of adjusted gross income (AGI) to up to 100% of AGI for those individuals who itemize their deductions, and corporations can now deduct up to 25% of taxable income, increased from 10%. Please consider choosing the THF as part of your charitable giving this year; we would love to visit with you about how your donation would directly impact our education programs. As a reminder, the THF is not qualified to provide legal, tax or financial advice, so please consult with your own advisors as to how the CARES Act applies to your giving. We are very grateful for your support.
