Episode 63: Becoming a UFC Fighter – Mike King

The ALL ME® Podcast

Becoming a UFC Fighter  – Mike King

According to Webster’s Dictionary, Mixed Martial Arts or MMA, is a contact sport that allows a wide range of fighting techniques including striking, kicking and grappling.  Many of the athletes who compete in the sport of MMA are also masters of many Martial Arts from around the globe.

In this episode we had a chance to sit down with former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Fighter, Mike King.  Like the majority of all athletes (professional and amateur) Mike was faced with the pressure and decision to use Appearance and Performance Enhancing Substances.   Ultimately King made the decision to use Anabolic Steroids while he was fighting in the UFC and tested positive for the anabolic steroid nandrolone following his Fight Night Dublin loss to Chathal Pendred.

When a professional athlete tests positive for a Performance Enhancing Substance they’re faced with another decision – what am I going to tell the media?  You will need to tune into this episode to learn more about the decision Mike decided he was going to make and it’s a story you don’t want to miss.

During our interview we talked about posting a picture of Mike before and after his anabolic steroid use.

The sport of MMA is one that takes great mental toughness as well as being in great physical shape.  During our interview you will hear a lot of great pieces of information from King when it comes to training, nutrition and always being prepared.

Today, Mike still works hard at the gym training and enjoys spending time with his beautiful family!
