Being a Paralympian – Aaron Scheidies, Trevon Jenifer and Tyler Carter

A TrueSport Collaboration

The Paralympic Games are some of the most fun sports to watch on TV.  Today we have a very unique opportunity to interview three of the top Paralympic Athletics in the U.S.A.  The Paralympic Games or Paralympics are a series of various sporting events involving professional athletes with a range of disabilities.  Over the years the Paralympic Games has grown from 400 athletes from 23 countries to thousands of athletes representing over 100 countries!

In this episode we’re going to talk with

Aaron Schieidies (Paratriathlete),

Trevon Jenifer (Wheelchair Basketball)

and Tyler Carter (Alpine Skiing).

We’re going to to have a very important discussion that you’re not going to want to miss.  This discussion is going to include topics like what these athletes feel is the perception of a Paralympic Athlete among general society, how the perception of Paralympic Athletes has changed over the past 5 years as well as inequity within sports.  Each of these athletes are very passionate about their sports and the Paralympics and will give you their perspective on their sports as well as the Paralympic Games.  One of parts you’re going to want to listen to is the training regimen each of these athletes go through daily to train and prepare for the games.  These guys work hard at their craft to compete at the highest level in sport all while holding down full time jobs.

This episode is another discussion in our TrueSport collaboration series. TrueSport aims to change the culture of youth sport by providing powerful educational tools to equip young athletes with the resources to build life skills and core values for success on and off the field. All of these athletes serve as TrueSport Ambassadors, which means they embody all of the values and mission of TrueSport and serve as incredible role models who inspire others through not just through their sports participation but the positive journeys that they share.
