In this podcast episode, Dr. Melissa Streno discusses the etiology of a body image disorder, the signs and symptoms of what the look for, especially for parents and coaches, along with strategies to promote body positivity.
Dr. Melissa Streno
Dr. Melissa Streno earned a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology (2015) and her M.A. in Sport and Performance Psychology (2010) from the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Professional Psychology. She is currently in full-time private practice with Lantern Psychology as a licensed psychologist in Colorado. She continues to teach as an Adjunct Professor in the Sport and Performance Psychology Program at the University of Denver as well.
Dr. Streno is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology and has consulted with youth, high school, collegiate, elite, and Olympic athletes from a variety of sport and performance domains, including dancers and musicians, as well as those active in a business setting.
