ELITE FEMALE ATHLETES MANDY MARQUARDT AND ALISE (POST) WILLOUGHBY JOIN TAYLOR HOOTON FOUNDATION’S ALL ME® ADVISORY BOARD

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Multi National Champions Step Up to Help Educate Young People About
the Dangers of Appearance and Performance Enhancing Substances

McKinney, Texas (March 27, 2018) – The Taylor Hooton Foundation announced today that 13-time national champion track cyclist Mandy Marquardt and 2017 UCI BMX World Champion and Olympic Silver Medalist Alise (Post) Willoughby have joined its ALL ME Advisory Board. The Taylor Hooton Foundation is widely acknowledged as the leader in the advocacy against appearance and performance enhancing substance use by the youth of America.

The partnership is an extension of each athlete’s ongoing commitment to clean training, as showcased in their work with Klean Athlete®, an NSF Certified for Sport® supplement brand free of banned substances and contaminants. Klean Athlete and the Taylor Hooton Foundation share a commitment to helping protect athletes by educating athletes of all ages about the importance of safe training and clean competition.

“We are honored and excited to have Mandy and Alise join our ALL ME Advisory Board,” said Taylor Hooton Foundation President Donald Hooton, Jr. “It is so important that our young people have positive role models to look up to, especially when it comes to the topic of competing in sports and in life by doing things the right way and without the use of drugs. These incredible athletes have reached the pinnacle of their sport and, combined with our education campaign, are the most effective weapons we have in this national struggle.”

Mandy Marquardt began cycling at 10 years old, competing in endurance road and track events. At the age of 16, she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. By effectively balancing racing and nutrition with diabetes management, Mandy refuses to let diabetes stop her from fulfilling her dreams. She is a 13-time U.S. National Champion and 2020 Olympic hopeful.

“As a long-time Klean Athlete ambassador, I’m excited to expand my commitment to training clean by joining the Taylor Hooton Foundation’s ALL ME Advisory Board,” Marquardt said. “I believe in competing clean and representing my country with integrity. As a track cyclist living with type 1 diabetes, I’m especially in tune and aware of what I put in my body and I’m excited to stand up as a positive role model of doing things the right way.”

Alise (Post) Willoughby is one of the most successful female BMX racers of all time. She started racing BMX at the age of six after a nudge from one of her older brothers. Alise is a 2016 Olympic silver medalist, six-time Women’s Pro Champion, eight-time USA Cycling National Champion and 2017 UCI BMX World Champion. “I am excited to join the Taylor Hooton Foundation’s ALL ME Advisory Board,” (Post) Willoughby said. “As an elite level racer and dedicated Klean Athlete partner, I always strive to push my body to its physical limits but would never sacrifice competing clean. You can be the best and maintain a clean process. I look forward to amplifying this message about competing the right way to young athletes.”

The “ALL ME” Advisory Board was formed in 2014 with eight active Major League Baseball players and, by 2015, included at least one player from each of the 30 MLB teams.
