THE LHSAA ENDORSES THE THF'S HOOT'S CHALK TALK E-LEARNING PROGRAM
BATON ROUGE – This week the Taylor Hooton Foundation (THF), the nation's leading organization dedicated to fighting youth steroid abuse announced a partnership with the Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA). The LHSAA leadership announced that they will endorse the THF's Hoot's Chalk talk e-Learning Program to their members.
Hoot’s Chalk Talk e-Learning Program is a brand new online education program that is targeted at coaches and is the first of its kind in the US and Canada. This in-depth education program provides coaches with the information they need in order to keep their athletes away from Appearance and Performance Enhancing Drugs. As part of their training, coaches will learn how to identify a steroid user and to be able to know how to deal with a student who they suspect is using these drugs.
"We believe that the Taylor Hooton Foundation's e-Learning Program is a valuable resource for our coaches" said Kenny Henderson, Executive Director of the LHSAA. "It is very important for our coaches to be aware of the dangers of performance enhancing drugs", Henderson added.
"The THF is very proud to partner with the LHSAA to provide a valuable educational tool for its members," said Don Hooton, founder and President of the THF. "It shows that the LHSAA leadership recognizes the need for all coaches to be trained on this very timely topic. And, we appreciate and applaud the commitment that the LHSAA is making to combat this problem," he added.
This announcement follows last month's announcement of a partnership with the University of Waterloo in Canada. The University of Waterloo is the first university that is requiring all of their athletes, coaches and athletic trainers must satisfactorily complete the Hoot's Chalk Talk e-Learning Program.
