Texas District 7 Wins THF eLearning Competition!
Texas District 7 Little League and the Taylor Hooton Foundation (THF) challenged the Presidents of each league to see who could get the most coaches, parents and volunteers to complete the Appearance and Performance Enhancing Drugs eLearning training course from October 8, 2014 – April 1, 2015. This is an effort to raise awareness about the dangers of appearance and performance enhancing drugs (APEDS) which includes: unregulated dietary supplements (i.e. energy drinks, proteins, etc.), HGH, anabolic steroids.
Working in partnership with the Williamsport team, THF developed this eLearning training course specifically for the leaders of the Little League Baseball (LLB) community. Our mission is to have all LLB volunteers world-wide take this eLearning training course!
The THF would like to congratulate Arlington Southwest Little League (ASLL) as the winner of the 2015 LLB eLearning Training Course Challenge! ASLL was able to get the most coaches, parents and volunteers to complete the LLB eLearning training course! Congratulations for the commitment and leadership from ASLL to educating your league on the dangers of APEDs!!
ASLL will be invited to the 2015 PBATS (Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers’ Society) PLAY (Promoting a Lifetime of Activity for Youth) Campaign at Globe Life Park in with the Texas Rangers on May 2, 2015. The PLAY Campaign is part of a national effort to educate kids about the importance of living a healthy and active lifestyle. In addition, kids get to interact with Major League ballplayers by doing different on-field drills, clubhouse walk-throughs as well as learning nutritional facts from the Rangers athletic training staff. They get an up close and personal peak into the life and routine of what it’s like to be a MLB player!
Congratulations to Arlington Southwest Little League, see you at the ballpark!
