NHL AND TAYLOR HOOTON FOUNDATION TEAM UP TO PREVENT YOUTH STEROID ABUSE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
National Hockey League and Taylor Hooton Foundation Team Up to Prevent Youth Steroid Abuse
McKINNEY, TX (April 26, 2012) The Taylor Hooton Foundation (THF), widely acknowledged leader in the advocacy against performance enhancing substance abuse by the youth of North America, announced a partnership with the National Hockey League (NHL). The NHL has agreed to endorse the foundation and its education programs that are designed to eliminate anabolic steroid and other appearance and performance enhancing drug use among our youth in the United States and Canada.
“The NHL is proud to support the efforts of the Taylor Hooton Foundation,” said NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly. “The dangers of anabolic steroids in the hands of our youth is all too real, and awareness and education is the key to prevention. I can’t think of any group who has done more over the years to get this message out there to youth and adults. That is why we’re happy to lend our brand and our support to their efforts.”
“We’re very proud and grateful to have the support of such a well-known and admired brand as the National Hockey League,” said THF founder and president Don Hooton. “Through this partnership, we have the opportunity to expand our reach and deliver our programs to hundreds of thousands of NHL fans across North America. We look forward to working with the NHL team to make this happen,” added Hooton.
The Taylor Hooton Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to educating North America’s young people about the dangers of anabolic steroids and other appearance and performance enhancing drugs.  The Foundation was formed in 2004 by the friends and family of Taylor Hooton after his untimely death.
