TAYLOR HOOTON FOUNDATION LAUNCHES ALL ME™ LEAGUE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TAYLOR HOOTON FOUNDATION LAUNCHES ALL ME™ LEAGUE
Site Will Showcase the Support of Professional MLB Athletes and Teams;
Allow Young People to Take the Pledge to Play Clean Along With Big-League Stars
McKinney, TX (July 30, 2014) – The Taylor Hooton Foundation, widely acknowledged as the leader in the advocacy against appearance and performance enhancing drug use by the youth of America, today announced the launch of the All Me™ League – www.allmeleague.com.
With 13 players (role models) making up the Foundation’s “Advisory Board” of active players from across Major League Baseball, the All Me™ League will showcase the support professional athletes and teams are giving to the fight against Appearance and Performance Enhancing Drugs or APEDs (e.g., anabolic steroids, unregulated dietary supplements and HGH).
“The formation of our Advisory Board and the All Me™ League is so very helpful to our mission of educating America’s youth about the dangers of appearance and performance enhancing drugs,” said Taylor Hooton Foundation Founder and President Don Hooton. “To give kids the opportunity to join such great players and role models in making the pledge to play clean is a powerful weapon in our battle to change our youth’s attitudes about the use of APEDs. These role models will help show kids that drugs aren’t necessary to make it to the very pinnacle of professional sport.”
On the site, America’s youth can join with the many famous players that have taken the pledge to play clean. By submitting a video, just like the Foundation’s Advisory Board members have, youngsters will take the All Me™ Challenge to showcase how they intend to make the world of sports a better place by joining the All Me™ League.
While the benefit is pledging to make all sports a better place to play clean and fair, one youngster will also be chosen to win two tickets to a 2014 World Series game. A number of other prizes will also be awarded to kids that take the All MeTM Challenge.
Charter members of the “Advisory Board” are Jay Bruce (Cincinnati Reds), John Danks (Chicago White Sox), David DeJesus (Tampa Bay Rays), Brian Dozier (Minnesota Twins), Brett Gardner (New York Yankees), Dillon Gee (New York Mets), Clayton Kershaw (Los Angeles Dodgers), Jason Kipnis (Cleveland Indians), Mark Melancon (Pittsburgh Pirates), Anthony Rendon (Nationals), Max Scherzer (Detroit Tigers), C.J. Wilson (Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim) and Brad Ziegler (Arizona Diamondbacks).
Additional members of the “Advisory Board” will be announced throughout the 2014 season.
In 2013 alone, the Taylor Hooton Foundation educated more than 150,000 people at various speaking engagements. It also began a Latin American outreach and traveled throughout the Caribbean, speaking to thousands of RBI athletes, coaches and parents in partnership with Major League Baseball. This year the Foundation introduced a new eLearning program – narrated by Bob Costas – to Little League Baseball that is offered to its one-million adult coaches and other volunteers.
