Dietary supplement is recalled for banned substance
EZ Weight Loss TX is recalling all lots and all expiration dates for LaBri’s Body Health Atomic and LaBri’s Body Health Xplode weight loss capsules because they contain sibutramine, an appetite suppressant banned in the U.S. market since 2010. As the FDA recall notice states, “Sibutramine is known to increase blood pressure and/or pulse rate in some patients and may present a risk for patients with a history of coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, or stroke. Sibutramine may also interact, in life-threatening ways with other medications a consumer may be taking.” EZ Weight Loss is asking customers with the capsules to contact them at 361-334-1977 Monday through Saturday from noon to 7:30 p.m. or e-mail ezweightlosstx@gmail.com. LaBri’s Body Health Atomic was recalled in March for sibutramine presence when it was being distributed by Envy Me. The e-mail alert went out from the FDA with the rarely used “URGENT!” magnifier.

Both Envy Me and EZ Weight Loss TX operate out of Corpus Christi, Texas. Though EZ Weight Loss TX is listed as a limited liability corporation, a search for it under registered corporations in Texas turns up empty. Envy Me isn’t registered, either. http://www.miamiherald.com/living/health-fitness/article163454928.html
