Lee Chong Wei’s positive test stems from a testing of his B sample at the World Championships back in August.
From the report:
The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) will make an official announcement at 2pm at BAM headquarters in Bukit Kiara on Saturday. The press conference will be chaired by BAM’s working committee on doping, Datuk Norza Zakaria. Lee, who went through a random dope test during the World Championships in Copenhagen on Aug 30, witnessed the seal of his B sample being opened at Oslo on Nov 5.Because of the positive drug test, Lee Chong Wei could face a two-year ban from the sport. Of course, the Malaysian player will be granted a hearing with the Badminton World Federation (BWF) at a yet-to-be determined date where he could potentially file an appeal and ultimately learn his punishment. If badminton isn’t pure, what is?
