BBC Reports: Hidden problems and dangers of steroid abuse
Array of anabolic steroids
The misuse of steroids in Northern Ireland is under-reported, it is claimed
Youth rugby players are using steroids to bulk up.  But, the number of rugby players using anabolic steroid pales in comparison to the number of body builders that are using steroids, according to the BBC.  And, it is believed that the estimates of the number of steroid users in Northern Ireland is under reported. There has also been a change in the type of person using steroids over the past 20 years.  “Back then the only sort of people who could get their hands on steroids were dodgy characters, paramilitary-type people,” he said. Whereas now it’s vastly widespread, there are 17, 18-year-olds taking them.” At first glance, it seems that our friends in Ireland are seeing exactly the same kind of dangerous trends there that we are seeing here in the good old US of A. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-22994816
