Elvis was acquired by the Texas Rangers from the Atlanta Braves – along with RHP Neftali Feliz, LHP Matt Harrison, LHP Beau Jones and C Jarrod Saltalamacchia – in a blockbuster seven-player trade for 1b Mark Teixeira and LHP Ron Mahay on July 31, 2007.
FUN FACT
Elvis was the recipient of the Rangers’ 2014 Jim Sundberg Community Achievement Award for significant contributions in the community. He participated in the club’s hospital visits and Cowboy Santa’s Toy Drive in December of 2014. Elvis has also been actively involved with the Down Syndrome Guild of Dallas, participating with a number of other prominent Dallas-Fort Worth individuals in that organization’s 2014 Charity Calendar and hosting a Thanksgiving event for Guild families in November 2013.
