6th man set to plead guilty in Bioenesis steroid case
A sixth man is set to plead guilty for his role in illegally providing performance-enhancing drugs to Major League Baseball players and other athletes. A federal judge scheduled a plea hearing Friday for 48-year-old Juan Carlos Nunez. Like others in the case, Nunez is charged with conspiracy to distribute steroids such as testosterone. The case revolves around the defunct Biogenesis of America clinic operated by Anthony Bosch, who has also pleaded guilty. Prosecutors say performance-enhancing drugs were provided to MLB players including New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez. Rodriguez has admitted using them in court documents. Trial is still set for Rodriguez cousin Yuri Sucart and ex-University of Miami pitching coach Lazaro Collazo. http://www.journalreview.com/sports/baseball/article_283cc03f-6083-5ff6-a098-70a03cebe62b.html
