Steroids lab busted in Panama City Beach

PANAMA CITY BEACH — The Bay County Sheriff's Office has released the identities of three people arrested last week and charged for their involvement with a steroids lab in Panama City Beach.

Garret George, 23, was charged with the possession of and intent to distribute controlled substances, trenbolone and testosterone, possession of a controlled substance, methadone, and manufacture of controlled substances methenolone and nandrolone; Mitchell Hardy, 29, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance, testosterone, and possession of drug paraphernalia; Christopher Gipson, 21, was charged with the possession of a controlled substance, testosterone, BCSO said.

MLB Suspends Braves, Phillies players For Steroids

Major League Baseball announced 50-game suspensions for Braves righthander Darrel Leiva and Phillies righthander Gabriel Bermudez after both of them tested positive for steroids.

Leiva, 18, tested positive for metabolites of both Stanozolol (commonly sold as Winstrol) and Nandrolone (commonly sold as Deca-Durabolin), both anabolic steroids. Two people have been arrested in London on suspicion of smuggling “extremely dangerous” anabolic steroids into the UK.

A parcel containing 1,000 sealed vials of nandrolone, a performance-enhancing class C drug often used by athletes, was seized at the Channel Tunnel’s Coquelles terminal in Northern France on July 23 – just days before the start of the Olympics.
