Hoot’s Chalk Talk is a Science-Based Program That Has Been Proven Effective
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health and Substance Abuse Administration (SAMHSA) of the Federal Government has tested our Hoot’s Chalk Talk program for effectivity. Our program was presented in 10 selected high schools around the country and “before and after” testing was conducted to determine shifts in knowledge and attitudes as they related to appearance and performance enhancing drugs. The “before” tests were given the day before the Hoot’s Chalk Talk Assembly. The “after” results were collected the day after the assembly.
Results were compiled from five of those high schools and are presented below. They are a summary of the before and after knowledge and attitudes of 793 different students.
In brief, the results of were both dramatic and very, very positive.
