Longtime New York Mets fan Jerry Seinfeld talked baseball with Fox Sports’ Jimmy Traina, just a few weeks before pitchers and catchers report for spring training. Seinfeld talked about the Mets (of course), the Super Bowl, and steroids. Seinfeld said that though he hasn’t been following A-Rod’s case closely, he believes that one of the high-profile players embroiled in steroid controversy should stand up and be a role model for future players.
Via Fox Sports:
Somebody like Mark McGwire or Sammy Sosa or Alex Rodriguez needs to come out and really mount a campaign about how ‘this crap ruined my life kids – don’t do it’ and be out front and be the spokesman. Say I am now going to use what happened to me to help some kid not do it. Why hasn’t someone done that?
Seinfeld also revealed that his Mets fandom has a serious affect on his day-to-day life. When the Mets lose, Seinfeld’s day is wrecked.
