Doping among youth athletes is on the rise

Doping among youth athletes is on the rise, according to a report in Indian newspaper, The Hindustan Times, earlier this month.

Based on figures provided by a newsletter from India’s National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA), numerous youth athletes recently failed doping tests, including a high-jumper, shot-putter and thrower. The report adds that 20 of the more than 80 Indian athletes to fail doping tests in 2016 were in high school or college. The report also states that NADA has been testing fewer and fewer athletes as of late, as it has low doping sample collection numbers at certain major events. These events include the All India Police Volleyball cluster championship, the All India Police hockey championship and the junior world hockey cup. http://www.excellesports.com/news/doping-youth-athletes-india/
