Overall, the session was well received. The average scores of both administrators and students fell between “Agree” and “Strongly Agree” for all four core questions. Both students and administrators most highly agreed with “The way the session was delivered (format, presenter style, use of AV handout) assisted me in the learning process.”
When asked “How can you apply what you learned in this session when you return to campus”, several students identified that their new knowledge of resources and the availability of these resources highlighted by the presentation will help inform their decisions and help them present this information to others. Administrators’ comments to this question were similar; they learned very helpful information that they will take back to their campuses. Administrators agreed with most of these comments. The attendees felt the session was very informative on a topic that does not get the attention it deserves.
Question 1: The session gave me ideas/information for prevention education on my campus.
Question 2: The way the session was delivered (format, presenter style, use of AV handouts) assisted me in the learning process.
Question 3: This session motivated me to make a positive change (personal behavior on campus).
Question 4: I would recommend this session to others.

On behalf of the S. Bronx Campus athletes and coaches, I would like to offer my profound gratitude for your presentation on the dangers of anabolic steroids. It was very important for our students to hear the story of your son Taylor and to absorb the vast amount of information you provided them.
Over the years, we have had many presenters speak to our students. Yours was by far the most well prepared and well communicated program of all. Your affable personality and use of contemporary images allowed the students to connect to and appreciate the seriousness of this topic.
My only wish is that every student in the school had been able to attend. Yours is a message taht EVERY high school student should hear.

“This letter is written in passionate support of the recent “Hoot’s Chalk Talk” assembly program that was presented to all of the high schools in the Scottsdale Unified School District.”
“As a 20-year educator, I believe every young person in the country needs to see this presentation! We found the foundation team to be both knowledgeable and engaging in their presentation to our students. The program moved quickly and was entertaining while staying focused on the message. The program was presented to athletes and non-athletes alike, and held the attention of all five high school student bodies throughout the course of the presentation.”
” I strongly recommend the “Hoot’s Chalk Talk” program to your school or district.”
Katy Cavenagh
Interim Superintendant Scottsdale Unified School District

“In February, Don Hooton made a presentation to all of the American Legion Coaches in Connecticut. Having him at our meeting was the best decision we ever made. He kept over 200 people on the edge of their chairs early on a Saturday morning by combining important facts with common sense logic. Everyone in attendance left that morning better prepared to help both their players and their own children – lives will be changed and possibly saved due to the information he shared.
As State Director, I would highly recommend that all of our other states schedule one of his presentations.”
“D.A.R.E. is proud to partner and stand beside the Taylor Hooton Foundation. We applaud your vision to reach the day when performance enhancing drugs will no longer be part of our high school students’ lives.”
“Thank you for your presentation to the Texas D.A.R.E. Officers Association. The officers attending the conference found your presentation extremely educational and very enlightening.”
John Lindsay Southeast Regional Director
D.A.R.E. America
“A hush fell over the students when Mr. Hooton explained what we were going to see and hear. The stories of people, who look just like you and I and who are now off steroids were powerful and caught the attention of everyone in the audience. Our 9th grade students were wide-eyed with the images they saw. The assembly not only provided our students with valuable information, but I walked away having learned something as well.”
“I recommend the Hooton Foundation to any person or organization that would like to provide accurate information and touching stories about anabolic steroids.”

“On behalf of the Frisco RoughRiders, I want to let you know how much we enjoyed working with you to host the 2009 “Hoot’s Chalk Talk”
event at Dr. Pepper Ballpark.”
“The event was incredibly successful and we received positive feedback from our players, athletic trainer and strength coach, kids and families. The event was well organized and your staff members did a great job of explaning the significance of this baseball clinic to everyone in attendance.”
Mara Simon-Mayer Director, Frisco RoughRiders Foundation
“Thank you so much for your valuable time to address our student body. Your commitment to this cause is commendable. You obviously touched many of our students based on the high number of hits made to your web site.”
“I would recommend your “Chalk Talk” to any school or community organization.”

This is a letter of recommendation regarding the services of the Taylor Hooton Foundation.
We were fortunate to have a representative address our student athletes. The presentation included a PowerPoint, testimonials, numerous facts as they related to physical and emotional concerns/dangers. And, they allowed for questions/answers and additional dialogue.
The information was so beneficial taht we are currently considering methods for broadening our audience to include parents and other schools in our district.
Please consider this letter as a source that highly recommends this program.
